Hi everyone,
TL;DR: I’m sharing three simple, easy ways for us to stay connected, with minimal effort. If you’re all-in, skip to the bottom of the email and click to join one or all three.
As we grow our community of possibilitarians, more of us are looking for ways to connect outside of our Zoom calls. I’ve tried various ways of doing this and none of them have really worked super-well. I think one of the reasons for this is friction.
When you have to go and sign in to a community, it adds a level of friction. You need to really want to go there. I’m a member of several communities, and although I like the people and want to connect, it’s just too much trouble to go log in, download the app, leave a comment, come back a day later, and so on.
So what’s the alternative? I end up spending my time reading and replying to emails, and posting/commenting on public networks, mostly Substack and LinkedIn.
If you’re the same, then why don’t we just connect where we already are? By which I mean email, Substack, and LinkedIn. To that end I’ve got three ways for us to stay connected. A group email discussion group, a LinkedIn group, and a Substack chat. Feel free to join one or all three.

Email discussion group.
This is different than a newsletter. It’s an email group where anyone can start a conversation with the group and anyone can reply. It’s a nice way to connect, without ever having to go outside your email. To join the email discussion group, you will need a Google account, and you will need to request access.
You can also change the group setting based on whether you want to receive every email, a digest, an abridged version, or to not get any emails at all (although that kind of defeats the purpose).
Click here to join the email group.
LinkedIn group.
The LinkedIn group is private. So you’ll also need to ask for approval in order to join. Click here to join the LinkedIn group.
Substack chat.
Only members can start threads on the Substack chat, but anyone can comment and participate. Join the chat now.
I’m a bit embarrassed that it took me so long to remember a simple truth:
If you want to connect with people, meet them where they already are.
Better late than never, right? We now have three ways to connect when we want to share ideas, get help on projects and promotions, share interesting links and resources, and inspire and encourage each other.
All three are simple and require minimum effort, because they are happening in places where you (probably) already are.
I hope you’ll join all three! Here’s your checklist:
I sent this on a Saturday so hopefully you’ll see it over the weekend, when you’re less rushed and distracted.
See you online!
I would say that letting the community drive the need for a space organically is breeze, Dave. One advantage to Substack chat is I’m already logged in here every day. Thanks for offering options!
