The Monday memo is food for thought to fuel your week.
Hi everyone,
Creative work generates clutter. It’s the law of entropy: over time, order tends to disintegrate into clutter and chaos. Also, your work habits can change over time, so what was once a useful organizing scheme may no longer be serving you.
Every once in a while, it’s a good and useful idea to organize your work space, so everything has a place. The last thing you want to be doing when inspiration strikes is wasting time looking for that brush or dremel tool, thinking, where did I put that?
Exercise.
Here’s your exercise for the week. Make some time to clean and organize your work space. Tidy up. Put things in their proper places, and if things don’t have proper places, either make a place for them or get rid of the things.
A clean and tidy workspace is inviting, an enjoyable place to be. You spend a good amount of time there. It’s worth investing some time to make it the kind of place you look forward to being in.
Spring break.
We are still on spring break, and I’m using this time to do a little spring cleaning in my studio. We’ll resume sessions on April 16th. The Friday campfire calls will continue during the break, so do check in if you’re around!
Until next time,
