The Monday memo is food for thought to fuel your week.

Hi everyone,

Imagine this: You wake up tomorrow and your biggest problem is gone. A miracle happened overnight. No explanation. It just vanished.

Now ask yourself—what’s different?

The miracle question comes from solution-focused therapy, but it’s just as useful in creative work, consulting, and everyday problem-solving. You don’t have to solve the problem. You don’t even have to define it. Just imagine the world without it. What’s changed?

This shift in perspective is like flipping a switch that helps you see the world in a different way. It can surface insights that don’t come from analyzing or attacking the problem head-on. It helps you bypass resistance and tap into what really matters: the outcome you want, the future you imagine, the version of you that’s no longer stuck.

Here’s a version I like to use with customers: “Pretend our project is over and it went perfectly. You’re thrilled. What’s different?”

Sometimes the fastest way to move forward is to stop trying to fix the problem. Instead, picture the world where it doesn’t exist. Because often, the thing blocking you is a story you're telling yourself. And if you can change the story, you might just change the reality.

Exercise.

Ask yourself the miracle question. Don’t worry about how the problem gets solved. Just imagine that it’s gone. It vanished overnight. Look around. What’s different?
