Our Collaboratory with Mark McCartney went so well today, and there was such interest in going deeper with Mark, that he offered to host a silent conversation for School of the Possible members.
We have scheduled that for March 18th, Tuesday of next week, from 9 to 10:30 AM Pacific time.
Mark’s silent conversations are a very unusual format. Here are Mark’s guidelines:
Silent conversations.
If you are yet to join one of these discussions, the format is simple. We open up with 15 minutes of silence, no hellos or intros. I then ask you to share or reflect on your experience in the silence. It is followed by two more 10-minute periods of silence with a question to contemplate on the day’s theme and then further rounds of talking in between.
Key guidelines include:
Only talk if you feel like it, no obligation to at any point (we don't do personal introductions, etc.).
Please don’t try to provide solutions for others or deal in advice / coach, speak from your own perspective.
Please don’t ask each other questions, it avoids any obligation for someone to speak.
These sessions aren’t about sharing our life stories, clever quotes, or being the most profound, and so on. Please try to speak from what is genuinely emerging from your experience in the silence.
Please be on time, people won't be allowed in if more than a couple of minutes late, and stay until the end.
Confidentiality is a must.
The Tuesday event is free for members, but please register in advance so we know how many people to expect.
